Lepidoptera Systematics Group (LSG) was established originally by famous entomologist Prof. Zhu Hongfu. The main research interest is systematics and taxonomy of Lepidoptera. Lepidoptera is the second largest order in Insecta, including moths and butterflies, with great species diversity, extensive distribution and great adaptability. Lepidoptera is the most important objects in research of biogeography, ecology and evolution. Most Lepidoptera are of economic importance. Based on the long term research history and large collection in the Institute of Zoology, CAS, the group keeps ahead on the field of Lepidoptera systematic taxonomy in China. After several generations' hard work, our group achieved plentiful scientific progress. Published works including 12 volumes of Fauna Sinica, 11 volumes ofEconomic Insect Fauna of China, a series of Iconocraphia Heterocerorum Sinicorum, Iconography of Moths, Iconography of Larvae of Moths, and hundreds of papers.
