Resume:
I started my research on the subject of fig wasps on 2002 when I came to Institute of Zoology in Chinese Academy Sciences for my research study of PhD. Fig wasps (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) are marvelous insects living inside the compact syconia of Figs (Ficus: Moraceae). Due to their long history of co-evolution with figs, they have many biological characteristics adapted to their peculiar living environment. My major interests are focusing on the following subjects involving their adaptive characteristics: 1) The identification of fig wasps with molecular markers; 2) Evolutionary studies on the cytoplastic genomes in fig wasps; 3) Molecular evolution of some key functional genes (such as pax6 genes, the visual and circadian genes) in fig wasps.
